Teenagers never change

While scanning the Facebook realm, I stumbled across this absolutely iconic and yet generic "About Me" section.

I am in love with summer!
I enjoy many things.
Shitting on peoples lives, being on of my favorite!
I can't wait to get a car and drive away from this place im forced to call "home".
I like kick ass music, which includes legitimately everything.
I am FAR from simple. In fact, im quite complex.
But you'll find that im a really cool kid.
Want to get to know me?
Ask for my number.
Im addicted to texting ;)
If not, your loss not mine :)

Hopefully you enjoyed that glimpse into the past (either of yourself or of others you knew) as much as I did.

...yup, that's it...no time for analysis!

Places I've been, Places I've seen

Food of B301

Vinh eats many noodles!

Homemade Pita Chips. I used pita bread that was going stale (and a couple fresher ones), broke them into triangular pieces, added a little oil or butter spray and put in the oven until brownish. On another batch, I added butter and garlic powder! They come out tasting like store-bought pita chips.... but MUCH cheaper!

Vinh made baklava! Filo dough, butter, and walnuts (with a few almonds added). Delicious!

Vinh made banana cupcakes from scratch..and peanut butter frosting from scratch!

Leftovers! American Chop Suey reheated in a sauce pan with a tad of water added, many more spices (mainly garlic and onion powder) and served with homefries (we had TOO many potatoes...so this night was a carb fest) and salad (all ingredients from the Farmer's Market in Amherst!

Champagne to celebrate Rand's awesome MCAT scores! Sliced strawberries and threw those into the glasses which made for a nice appearance and an even better treat at the end!

Lynn made delicious scallion pancakes! Homemade dough, scallions in oil, pressed with a rolling pin (we were sans rolling pin so an empty beer bottle worked well!) and fried in a pan!

New England Coffee's Pumpkin Spice made in a french press and with Very Vanilla Silk mixed in made for a delicious, fall flavor morning! The cool part about the coffee was that it held an orange hue!

Brief Summary

Hello! It always takes me forever to update this thing. I'd do it waaaay more often if I didn't feel bad about it (or had time to do it) at work. Things have been pretty decent! Now they're great =)

I went down the cape (yes, that's how it's said "down the cape" instead of "went to Cape Cod") for a weekend a little while ago. It was awesome!! We stayed with my mom's family in a HUGE private beach house on a private beach... Atlantic side, not bay side. It was amazing!!! The traffic wasn't, but totally worth it! Craving lobster rolls, we drove around forever! Then we went to Hyannis for shopping and the JFK Museum! Tres tres cool! I'll post pictures soon! As for our lobster roll quest, we found some at a deli and it was delicious!! SO MUCH LOBSTA!

I also went to Lilith Fair in Mansfield, up to New Hampshire for another show, then the next weekend I went up to NH to see one of my best friends before she leaves to volunteer in Ecuador for 6 months! We went up the Kankamangus highway and sat in a river with a picnic. It was awesome!!! On the way back, on 93 South, there was Border Patrol!!! What???!! Yes, so we went through that and of course they asked "are you both citizens? is there anyone hiding in the trunk?" hahaha

Well, I've gotta get going, will update later!!

Hope you're all well!!

Pennsylvania, food, etc

Okay, so I haven't posted in awhile, and definitely had a whole post typed out.. but then I inserted pictures and it was like NO and deleted all of my text. Alas. I haven't been up to much, just working at the office and trying to do fun things on the weekend. Went down to Pennsylvania over July 4th (which was awesomeee being in Philly!)... I highly recommend that, if you're ever in Philadelphia, GO TO THE FRANKLIN INSTITUTE!!! Nothing like a science museum where EVERYTHING is hands-on to fill a day with fun! Anyways.... here is.....

PENNSYLVANIA!

Here's a vendor in the Italian Market.

Sooo many delicious fruits, vegetables, and seafood.

Philly Cheesesteak!! In Philly!

This is Pat's! Apparently, Rocky came here or part of it was filmed here... I don't know, but it was REALLY good! The service is Philly... you best say "wit" instead of "a philly cheesesteak with onions" otherwise... haha

There were murals everywhere!

This is not Philly, but this is a smoothy I made the night before I left. A bunch of plain or vanilla yogurt, strawberries (I used frozen and it was kinda difficult, so I'd say stick with fresh OR thaw out frozen ones), blueberries, a hint og lime juice, a hint of vanilla, and some ice cubes. Blend until... you feel like it looks right!

This is what it looks like!

We went to this awesome place in East Central Pennsylvania where they make the ice cream RIGHT there... the flavors were AMAZING and you can mix and match. They are all really delicious and cheap!

LIBERTY BELL!!

Soooo they have this stuff called "Water Ice," but with accents it sounds like "wooter ice" It's like Italian ice... but so much better and smoother. It can literally only be described as Water Ice. I got a gellati, strawberry margarita with vanilla ice custard. SO GOOD. I will crave these until death.

This is where you get water ice. They are all over the place, and I can see why!!

My friend made killer tacos and doesn't like eating tacos in taco form, so she crushes up the hard shells and puts all of the ingredients on top. So good!!

For those of you who miss Western Mass.... (took a day trip out there... a rainy day, but these pictures survived!)

ANTONIO'S!!!!!!!!!

Tata for now! Hope you are all well!

Time to Play Catch Up

Wow, so I have not posted in a long while. Here goes!

My internship is crazzzzyyyy busy. So crazy that it needed several extra consonants to show just how crazy. I edit the websites, upload content, research things, edit other things, rewrite manuals, help facilitate training sessions... it's so much! But's I've learned a TON.

Aside from that, I haven't done much aside from family parties or meeting with friends for coffee/tennis/ kayaking/ swimming on the weekends.

But I will be heading down to Pennsylvania/ Philadelphia for a few days this week/weekend to visit one of my best friends!

Time to get down to business:

Here are some of the foods I've eaten!

Italian Leeks and Cabbage and a Thai Salad made with portebello mushrooms, baby arugala, avacados, and an amazing dressing.

...made by my dad!

My Polish friend made these deliciously soft cupcakes for her birthday. SO GOOD!

This is the cake for Derek's 21st birthday party!!

"Death by Chocolate"...... that's an understatement of a title!

My brother eating at the big garage at Meola's Ice Cream!!

The Topical Banana Bonanza at Meola's!

So the news has been talking about how Worcester's crime rate has sky-rocketed this year and most of it is youth.... but it's not all bad!
Here are some cool places around Worcester!

Pyramid's Disc Golfing in Worcester by the airport.

If you've never heard of Disc Golf... YOU NEED TO!!!

Higgins Armory in Worcester is the largest collection of renaissance armor and weaponry on the East Coast. There are always cool new exhibits. ...though I haven't been there since a school field trip (elementary/ middle/ and high school were all literally a walk away).

Okay, so this is obviously not Worcester, but it's this great place on Cape Ann.

Apparently, there are large paper spills in Worcester. Nonetheless, the building in the background is the Education Association of Worcester where all of the teachers of the 10 high schools, several middle schools, and countless elementary schools can join. It's the largest local of the Mass Teacher's Assoc.

Part of the downtown... what I guess you could call a "skyline". It's hard to take pics driving! Anyways, as part of the Downtown Worcester Revival (they've been trying to clean it up and get the bad areas less sketchy), the glass building now has a large dome that changes different colors at night.
On the right is the side of St. Vincent's Hospital, the new location. The train actually goes right through it! It's the only non-UMass-associated hospital in the city (there are 4 hospitals). Funny thing is, they didn't build a kitchen, so all the meals are prepared a couple miles away at the old hospital which now only serves as a kitchen and a psych ward! (this does not count as one of the aforementioned hospitals)

Here's part of Indian Lake which is in my neighborhood. It was really nice, then really not nice with a couple stabbings and jet-ski accidents, but since then, the cops and environmental police have really helped clean it up. Unfortunately, a lot of the people go to a beach on the other side by the highway and don't pick up their trash, but hopefully that'll soon end, too! Indian Lake gets mostly drained at the end of fall so it can be used for snow mobiles.

This is just funny! Haha, but this is at Bancroft School, the only private (and wicked expensive) college-preparatory school in Central Mass. Basically, it's a very ritzy K-12 school, but they have an amazing teaching style and programs for the kids.

My friends and I are too poor to go there, but not too poor to play tennis in their very-well-kept courts!

Had to use an online photo for this one. Seeing as that was Bancroft School, here's Bancroft Tower. It was built as a memorial. It has a beautiful view of the city, from atop Bancroft Hill, but the stairs up the tower have been closed for years due to drugs, people committing suicide, and other not-so-appealing activities. Nonetheless, it's cool!

(another I had to find online) So yes, this is a painting, but it's pretty legit as to how it looks now.. add in a couple streets around it and blue light-up stars on the building and you have the Worcester Art Museum. It's always had really awesome works from every era, including ancient egyptian as well as an old Roman mosaic that takes up a whole floor! It is an awesome place to go and they always have great activities for all ages.

And ONE MORE haha, and I'll have to use a web-pic for this, because I haven't been here in ages:

The Ecotarium is like the Boston Science Museum, but not as epic. This place is AWESOME. They have a polar bear, TONS of animals, a HUGE learning center, a 50-foot-up canopy walk (WICKED FUN!!), and a planetarium... which is probably the coolest thing ever. It's located in a very obscure area and is hard to find, but is definitely worth it!
